We support precision farming with the use of satellite technology that allows real time management of crops, fields and livestock. This helps to ensure profitability, efficiency, increased crop yields and optimization of process inputs.

To ensure profitability, sustainability and protection of the environment, CropIT uses information technology (IT) to ensure that crops and soil receive exactly what they need for optimum health and productivity. Using satellites, we access real-time images of individual plants and the information from these images are processed and integrated with sensors and other data to yield guidance for immediate and future decisions. 

Our cloud platform crunches data from our soil sensors integrated with multiple layers, to provide the best insights on when, where and how much to irrigate and fertilize and the best crop protection plan to follow.


The CropIT Solution

For each field, we pull high-resolution aerial images from several sources, using many ag-related indices including Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI), Moisture Stress Index (MSI), True Color (RGB) and other relevant indices. Our sensor collects information on moisture, temperature and electrical conductivity (EC) at multiple depths. All of the data is geo-tagged based on GPS coordinates creating geospatial time series for all measured data. At the CropIT control centre, we integrate sensor data and imaging input with other data, providing farmers with the ability to identify fields that require treatment and determine the optimum amount of water, fertilizers and pesticides to apply. This helps the farmers to avoid wasting resources and to prevent run-off, ensuring that the soil has just the right amount of additives for optimum health, while also reducing costs and controlling the farm’s environmental impact.
